Treatments

Our focus is acupuncture, but acupuncture is not the only thing we do.
We offer a wide variety of treatments to fit your specific needs.

Acupressure

A traditional Chinese medicine technique derived from acupuncture.   In acupressure, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points by the hand, elbow, or with various devices.

Moxibustion

An oriental medicine therapy utilizing moxa, or mugwort herb. Practitioners burn the fluff or process it further into a stick that resembles a (non-smokable) cigar. They can use it indirectly, with acupuncture needles, or sometimes burn it on a patient’s skin.

Refers to the set of mechanisms for straightening broken bones or relieving pressure on the skeletal system.

Cupping

A form of traditional medicine found in several cultures. It involves placing glass, plastic, or bamboo cups on the skin.

Chinese natural herbal medicine

The medicine is based on traditional Chinese medicine theory and philosophy that nature and humans are in harmony with each other. What humans lack in the body elements and nutrition can be supplemented by elements and nutrition from nature.

Gua Sha

Literally “to scrape away disease” by allowing the disease to escape as sandy-looking objects through the skin. Gua Sha involves repeated pressured strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edge. Commonly a ceramic Chinese soup spoon was used, or a well worn coin, even honed animal bones, water buffalo horn, or jade. A simple metal cap with a rounded edge is commonly used.

Tui Na

A form of Chinese manipulative therapy often used in conjunction with acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, Chinese herbalism. Tui na is a hands-on-body treatment using acupressure that is a modality of Chinese medicine whose purpose is to bring the body into balance.

Qi Gong

An ancient practice of exercise that incorporates meditation, movement and breathing. There are many health benefits to qigong. Reduced stress, lowering blood pressure, improved sleep and overall well-being are just a few of them.

Auricular Acupuncture

A form of body piercing that involves inserting a thin staple through a portion of the pinna; the visible part of the ear. Used for a variety of conditions including addition withdrawal and weight loss.
